Chapter 20: Kausalyā’s Lamentation
Text 2.20.24
सत्यप्रतिज्ञं पितरं राजानं पश्य राघव।
अद्यैव हि त्वां धर्मात्मा यौवराज्येऽभिषेक्ष्यति॥
satya-pratijñaṁ pitaraṁ rājānaṁ paśya rāghava
adyaiva hi tvāṁ dharmātmā yauvarājye ’bhiṣekṣyati
satya-pratijñam = to be truthful to his promise; pitaram = Your father; rājānam = the king; paśya = know; rāghava = Rāghava; adya eva hi = today; tvām = You; dharma-ātmā = that dhārmika soul; yauvarājye = as the crown prince; abhiṣekṣyati = will coronate.
Rāghava, know Your father, the king, to be truthful to his promise. That dhārmika soul will coronate You as the crown prince today.
She implied that there need be no worry that the coronation had not yet begun.
