लक्षणिभ्यो द्विजातिभ्यः श्रुत्वाहं वचनं पुरा।
वनवासकृतोत्साहा नित्यमेव महाबल॥
lakṣaṇibhyo dvijātibhyaḥ śrutvāhaṁ vacanaṁ purā
vana-vāsa-kṛtotsāhā nityam eva mahā-bala
lakṣaṇibhyaḥ = who were learned in the Sāmudrika-śāstras; dvijātibhyaḥ = from the twice-born; śrutvā = after hearing; aham = I; vacanam = these words; purā vana-vāsa-kṛta-utsāhā = have always been enthusiastic to reside in the forest; nityam eva = always; mahā-bala = O greatly strong Lord.
O greatly strong Lord, after hearing these words from the twice-born who were learned in the Sāmudrika-śāstras, I have always been enthusiastic to reside in the forest.1
