Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 28: Rāma Refuses to Accept Her Request
Text 2.28.3

सीते महाकुलीनासि धर्मे च निरता सदा।
इहाचर स्वधर्मं त्वं मा यथा मनसः सुखम्॥

sīte mahā-kulīnāsi dharme ca niratā sadā
ihācara sva-dharmaṁ tvaṁ mā yathā manasaḥ sukham

sīte = Sītā; mahā-kulīnā asi = are from a great dynasty; dharme ca = in dharma; niratā = absorbed; sadā = [and] always; iha = in this situation; ācara = carry out; sva-dharmam = your specific dharma; tvam = you; = not; yathā = what is; manasaḥ = to the mind; sukham = pleasing.

Sītā, you are from a great dynasty [and] always absorbed in dharma. Carry out your specific dharma in this situation, not what is pleasing to your mind.1

1 This is an instruction to us conditioned souls that we should not become emotionally disoriented while carrying out our general and specific duties. This is so especially for those engaged in bhāgavata-dharma from a great disciplic succession, which is nothing but a great spiritual dynasty.
