Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.60
जानामि परमां भक्तिं मयि ते भर्तृवत्सल।
शृणु चापि यदर्थं त्वां प्रेषयामि पुरीमितः॥
jānāmi paramāṁ bhaktiṁ mayi te bhartṛ-vatsala
śṛṇu cāpi yad-arthaṁ tvāṁ preṣayāmi purīm itaḥ
jānāmi = I know; paramām = exalted; bhaktim = devotion; mayi = to Me; te = of your; bhartṛ-vatsala = you are affectionate to your master; śṛṇu ca = listen; api = nevertheless; yat-artham = to the purpose for which; tvām = you; preṣayāmi = I send; purīm = to the city; itaḥ = from here.
You are affectionate to your master. I know of your exalted devotion to Me. Nevertheless listen to the purpose for which I send you to the city from here.
