Chapter 64: Daśaratha Gives up his Life in Remembrance of Lord Rāma

चक्षुर्भ्यां त्वां न पश्यामि कौसल्ये साधु मा स्पृश।
इत्युक्त्वा स रुदंस्त्रस्तो भार्यामाह च भूमिपः॥
cakṣurbhyāṁ tvāṁ na paśyāmi kausalye sādhu mā spṛśa
ity uktvā sa rudaṁs trasto bhāryām āha ca bhūmipaḥ
cakṣurbhyām = with my eyes; tvām = you; na paśyāmi = I cannot see; kausalye = Kausalyā; sādhu = please; mā = me; spṛśa = touch; iti uktvā = said; saḥ = he then; rudan = began to cry; trastaḥ = in great fear; bhāryām = to his wife; āha = spoke the following; ca = and then; bhūmipaḥ = the king.
He then said, “Kausalyā, I cannot see you with my eyes. Please touch me.” The king began to cry and then spoke the following to his wife in great fear.
