Chapter 88: Bharata Laments About Rāma’s Predicament
Text 2.88.21
सिद्धार्था खलु वैदेही पतिं यानुगता वनम्।
वयं संशयिताः सर्वे हीनास्तेन महात्मना॥
siddhārthā khalu vaidehī patiṁ yānugatā vanam
vayaṁ saṁśayitāḥ sarve hīnās tena mahātmanā
siddha-arthā = has attained success in her life; khalu = certainly; vaidehī = Vaidehī; patim = her husband; yā = who; anugatā = followed; vanam = into the forest; vayam = of us; saṁśayitāḥ = have become doubtful; sarve = all; hīnāḥ = devoid of; tena = that; mahā-ātmanā = great soul Rāma.
“Vaidehī who followed her husband into the forest has certainly attained success in her life. Devoid of that great soul Rāma, all of us have become doubtful.
“All of us have become doubtful” means “All of us have become doubtful about whether Rāma accepts our services or not.”
