Chapter 118: Conversation Between Sītā and Anasūyā

नैतदाश्चर्यमार्याया यन्मां त्वमनुभाषसे।
विदितं तु ममाप्येतद्यथा नार्याः पतिर्गुरुः॥
naitad āścaryam āryāyā yan māṁ tvam anubhāṣase
viditaṁ tu mamāpy etad yathā nāryāḥ patir guruḥ
na = no; etat = it is; āścaryam = wonder; āryāyāḥ = a noble lady; yat = that; mām = to me [in this manner]; tvam = you; anubhāṣase = speak; viditam tu mama api etat = I am also aware that; yathā = fully; nāryāḥ = of a woman; patiḥ = a husband; guruḥ = is her guru.
It is no wonder that you, a noble lady, speak to me [in this manner]. I am also fully aware that a husband of a woman is her guru.1
