Chapter 2: Rāma Encounters the Rākṣasa Virādha
Text 3.2.24

मम भुजबलवेगवेगितः पततु शरोऽस्य महान्महोरसि।।
व्यवसयतु तनोश्च जीवितं पततु ततः स महीं विघूर्णितः॥

mama bhuja-bala-vega-vegitaḥ
patatu śaro ’sya mahān mahorasi
vyavasayatu tanoś ca jīvitaṁ
patatu tataḥ sa mahīṁ vighūrṇitaḥ

mama = My; bhuja-bala-vega-vegitaḥ = enforced by the force of strong arm; patatu = may fall; śaraḥ = arrow; asya = his; mahān = this great; mahā-urasi = on large chest; vyavasayatu = may depart; tanoḥ ca = from his body; jīvitam = his life; patatu = may fall; tataḥ = and; saḥ = he; mahīm = on the ground; vighūrṇitaḥ = twirl and.

Enforced by the force of My strong arm, may this great arrow fall on his large chest, may his life depart from his body and may he twirl and fall on the ground.

“The force of My strong arm” refers to the force of pulling Lakṣmaṇa’s bowstring.1
