Chapter 6: The Sages Inform Rāma About the Rākṣasas Torturing Them
Text 3.6.12-13

युञ्जानः स्वानिव प्राणान्प्राणैरिष्टान्सुतानिव।
नित्ययुक्तः सदा रक्षन्सर्वान्विषयवासिनः॥

प्राप्नोति शाश्वतीं राम कीर्तिं स बहुवार्षिकीम्।
ब्रह्मणः स्थानमासाद्य तत्र चापि महीयते॥

yuñjānaḥ svān iva prāṇān prāṇair iṣṭān sutān iva
nitya-yuktaḥ sadā rakṣan sarvān viṣaya-vāsinaḥ

prāpnoti śāśvatīṁ rāma kīrtiṁ sa bahu-vārṣikīm
brahmaṇaḥ sthānam āsādya tatra cāpi mahīyate

yuñjānaḥ = and by endeavoring; svān = [they are] his own; iva = as if; prāṇān = life-airs; prāṇaiḥ = with his senses; iṣṭān = [they are] his cherished; sutān = sons; iva = as if; nitya-yuktaḥ = by being constantly alert in mind; sadā = constantly; rakṣan = to provide for and protect; sarvān = all; viṣaya-vāsinaḥ = those who reside in his kingdom; prāpnoti = will attain; śāśvatīm = continuous 2; rāma = O Rāma; kīrtim = fame; saḥ = he; bahu-vārṣikīm = for many years; brahmaṇaḥ = Brahmā’s; sthānam = abode; āsādya = after attaining; tatra ca = there; api = too; mahīyate = he will be worshipped.

O Rāma, by being constantly alert in mind, and by endeavoring with his senses to constantly provide for and protect all those who reside in his kingdom as if [they are] his own life-airs, as if [they are] his cherished sons, he will attain continuous fame for many years. After attaining Brahmā’s abode, he will be worshipped there too.

Such a king will be worshipped by Lord Brahmā in Brahmā’s abode.
