Chapter 7: Rāma Meets Sutīkṣṇa
Text 3.7.1

रामस्तु सहितो भ्रात्रा सीतया च परन्तपः।
सुतीक्ष्णस्याश्रमपदं जगाम सह तैर्द्विजैः॥

rāmas tu sahito bhrātrā sītayā ca parantapaḥ
sutīkṣṇasyāśrama-padaṁ jagāma saha tair dvijaiḥ

rāmaḥ tu = Śrī Rāma; sahitaḥ = with; bhrātrā = His brother Lakṣmaṇa; sītayā ca = Sītā-devī; parantapaḥ = the scorcher of foes; sutīkṣṇasya = Sutīkṣṇa’s; āśrama-padam = for āśrama; jagāma = [then] left; saha = and; taiḥ = the; dvijaiḥ = twice-born.

Śrī Rāma, the scorcher of foes, [then] left for Sutīkṣṇa’s āśrama with His brother Lakṣmaṇa, Sītā-devī and the twice-born.

GLOSS. [The glossator splits saha tair as sa hatair indicating that] Sutīkṣṇa’s āśrama was surrounded by rākṣasas who were soon to be killed.1
