Chapter 12: Agastya Requests Rāma to Protect the Sages
Text 3.12.72
एवमुक्तस्तदा रामः प्रत्युवाच महामुनिम्।
आश्चर्यमिदमाख्यातं देशस्यास्य यथातथम्॥
evam uktas tadā rāmaḥ pratyuvāca mahā-munim
āścaryam idam ākhyātaṁ deśasyāsya yathā-tatham
evam = thus; uktaḥ tadā = addressed; rāmaḥ = Rāma; pratyuvāca = replied; mahā-munim = to the great sage; āścaryam = are amazing; idam = these; ākhyātam = that you have told [us]; deśasya = land; asya = about this; yathā-tatham = facts.
Addressed thus, Rāma replied to the great sage, “These facts about this land that you have told [us] are amazing!”
