भार्या तस्योत्तमा लोके सीता नाम सुमध्यमा।
श्यामा समविभक्ताङ्गी स्त्रीरत्नं रत्नभूषिता॥
bhāryā tasyottamā loke sītā nāma sumadhyamā
śyāmā sama-vibhaktāṅgī strī-ratnaṁ ratna-bhūṣitā
bhāryā = wife; tasya = His; uttamā = is the best; loke = in the world; sītā = Sītā; nāma = named; sumadhyamā = she is slender-waisted; śyāmā = in the prime of youth 1; sama-vibhakta-aṅgī = with equally proportioned limbs; strī-ratnam = she is the best among females; ratna-bhūṣitā = and decorated with jewels.
His wife is the best in the world.1 Named Sītā, she is slender-waisted, in the prime of youth, with equally proportioned limbs and decorated with jewels. She is the best among females.
1 Uttamā can also mean “free from [the] darkness [of matter]” which further indicates that she is exclusively devoted to Lord Rāmacandra. Technical note: uttamā udgataṁ tamaḥ ākāṅkṣā yasyāḥ rāmātirikta-sarvākāṅkṣā-rahitā.
1 Her two eyes were equally proportionate. Her two ears were equally proportionate. This is the sense.
“With equally proportioned limbs” means “with eyes, ears and other parts of her body equally proportioned.”1
