Chapter 37: Mārīca Advises Rāvaṇa
Text 3.37.19
तस्य सा नरसिंहस्य सिंहोरस्कस्य भामिनी।
प्राणेभ्योऽपि प्रियतरा भार्या नित्यमनुव्रता॥
tasya sā nara-siṁhasya simhoraskasya bhāminī
prāṇebhyo ’pi priyatarā bhāryā nityam anuvratā
tasya = of that; sā = that; nara-siṁhasya = lion among men; simha-uraskasya = whose chest is like that of a lion; bhāminī = beautiful lady; prāṇebhyaḥ api = than His very life; priyatarā = she is dearer [to Him]; bhāryā = is the wife; nityam = always; anuvratā = and is obedient [to Him].
That beautiful lady is the wife of that lion among men whose chest is like that of a lion. She is dearer [to Him] than His very life and is always obedient [to Him].
