Chapter 41: Mārīca Again Criticizes Rāvaṇa

केनेदमुपदिष्टं ते क्षुद्रेणाहितवादिना।
यस्त्वामिच्छति नश्यन्तं स्वकृतेन निशाचर॥
kenedam upadiṣṭaṁ te kṣudreṇāhita-vādinā
yas tvām icchati naśyantaṁ sva-kṛtena niśācara
kena = which; idam = thus; upadiṣṭam = has instructed; te = you; kṣudreṇa = petty person; ahita-vādinā = who advises that which will harm you; yaḥ = and who; tvām = you; icchati = wants; naśyantam = destroyed; sva-kṛtena = by your deeds; niśācara = O night-ranger.
O night-ranger, which petty person, who advises that which will harm you and who wants you destroyed by your [own] deeds, has instructed you thus?
