Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 46: Rāvaṇa Disguises Himself and Approaches Sītā
Text 3.46.33

उपनीयासनं पूर्वं पाद्येनाभिनिमन्त्र्य च।
अब्रवीत्सिद्धमित्येव तदा तं सौम्यदर्शनम्॥

upanīyāsanaṁ pūrvaṁ pādyenābhinimantrya ca
abravīt siddham ity eva tadā taṁ saumya-darśanam

upanīya = brought; āsanam = a seat; pūrvam = she had already; pādyena = with water for washing his feet; abhinimantrya = honored him; ca = and; abravīt = she told; siddham iti eva = cooked food is ready; tadā = then; tam = him; saumya-darśanam = whose appearance was pleasant.

She had already brought a seat and honored him with water for washing his feet. She then told him whose appearance was pleasant, “Cooked food is ready.”

The author then elaborates on this in the next two verses that appear at the end of the chapter.
