Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 46: Rāvaṇa Disguises Himself and Approaches Sītā
Text 3.46.37

ततः सुवेषं मृगयागतं पतिं प्रतीक्षमाणा सहलक्ष्मणं तदा।
विवीक्षमाणा हरितं ददर्श तन्महद्वनं नैव तु रामलक्ष्मणौ॥

tataḥ suveṣaṁ mṛgayā-gataṁ patiṁ
pratīkṣamāṇā saha-lakṣmaṇaṁ tadā
vivīkṣamāṇā haritaṁ dadarśa tan
mahad vanaṁ naiva tu rāma-lakṣmaṇau

tataḥ = then; suveṣam = of handsome appearance; mṛgayā-gatam = who had gone to hunt [the deer]; patim = for her husband; pratīkṣamāṇā = while waiting; saha-lakṣmaṇam = with Lakṣmaṇa; tadā vivīkṣamāṇā = she looked at the greenery; haritam dadarśa = saw; tat = the; mahat = great; vanam = forest; na = not; eva tu = and only; rāma-lakṣmaṇau = Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.

Then, while waiting for her husband, who was handsome in appearance and who had gone to hunt [the deer] with Lakṣmaṇa, she looked at the greenery and only saw the great forest, not Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.

Vivīkṣamāṇā indicates that she variously looked towards the direction where Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa had gone.
