Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 50: Jaṭāyu Challenges Rāvaṇa
Text 3.50.10

पापस्वभावश्चपलः कथं त्वं रक्षसांवर।
ऐश्वर्यमभिसम्प्राप्तो विमानमिव दुष्कृतिः॥

pāpa-svabhāvaś capalaḥ kathaṁ tvaṁ rakṣasāṁ vara
aiśvaryam abhi samprāpto vimānam iva duṣkṛtiḥ

pāpa-svabhāvaḥ = have a sinful nature; capalaḥ = and so you are fickle; katham = how; tvam = you; rakṣasām = of the rākṣasas; vara = O best; aiśvaryam = opulences; abhi = for; samprāptaḥ = can be fit; vimānam = a celestial airplane meant for the devas; iva = like; duṣkṛtiḥ = a miscreant.

O best of the rākṣasas, you have a sinful nature and so you are fickle. How can a miscreant be fit for opulences like a celestial airplane meant for the devas?

“Fickle” means “inclined towards sense objects.”

Jaṭāyu implies here that if Rāvaṇa is thus inclined towards sense objects, he will fall down from his opulences.
