Chapter 51: Jaṭāyu Fights with Rāvaṇa

ततो मुहूर्तं सङ्ग्रामो बभूवातुलवीर्ययोः।
राक्षसानां च मुख्यस्य पक्षिणां प्रवरस्य च॥
tato muhūrtaṁ saṅgrāmo babhūvātula-vīryayoḥ
rākṣasānāṁ ca mukhyasya pakṣiṇāṁ pravarasya ca

Then a duel ensued for a while between the two warriors of incomparable prowess—the foremost of the rākṣasas and the chief of the birds.
