Chapter 64: Rāma Discovers Some Clues About Sītā’s Whereabouts
Text 3.64.22
क्व सीतेति त्वया पृष्टा यथेमे सहसोत्थिताः।
दर्शयन्ति क्षितिं चैव दक्षिणां च दिशं मृगाः॥
kva sīteti tvayā pṛṣṭā yatheme sahasotthitāḥ
darśayanti kṣitiṁ caiva dakṣiṇāṁ ca diśaṁ mṛgāḥ
kva = where; sītā iti = is Sītā; tvayā = You; pṛṣṭāḥ yathā = when asked them; ime = these; sahasā = immediately; utthitāḥ = got up; darśayanti = and pointed out; kṣitim ca eva = to the land; dakṣiṇām = the southern; ca = and; diśam = direction; mṛgāḥ = deer.
When You asked them, “Where is Sītā?” these deer immediately got up and pointed out to the land and the southern direction.
