Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 68: Jaṭāyu’s Liberation
Text 3.68.26

राजा दशरथः श्रीमान्यथा मम महायशाः।
पूजनीयश्च मान्यश्च तथायं पतगेश्वरः॥

rājā daśarathaḥ śrīmān yathā mama mahā-yaśāḥ
pūjanīyaś ca mānyaś ca tathāyaṁ patageśvaraḥ

rājā = King; daśarathaḥ = Daśaratha; śrīmān = the prosperous; yathā = as; mama = to Me; mahā-yaśāḥ = and greatly glorious; pūjanīyaḥ ca = is worshipable; mānyaḥ = praiseworthy; ca = and; tathā = as; ayam = this; pataga-īśvaraḥ = lord of the birds.

This lord of the birds is as worshipable and praiseworthy to Me as the prosperous and greatly glorious King Daśaratha.

Jaṭāyu was worshipable, that is, to be honored with the rites due to one’s [deceased] father.
