Chapter 69: Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa Meet Kabandha
Text 3.69.42

कौ युवां वृषभस्कन्धौ महाखड्गधनुर्धरौ।
घोरं देशमिमं प्राप्तौ मम भक्षावुपस्थितौ॥

kau yuvāṁ vṛṣabha-skandhau mahā-khaḍga-dhanurdharau
ghoraṁ deśam imaṁ prāptau mama bhakṣāv upasthitau

kau = who; yuvām = are You; vṛṣabha-skandhau = both of You have the shoulders of bulls; mahā-khaḍga-dhanurdharau = and both of You hold great swords and bows; ghoram = terrible; deśam = place; imam = to this; prāptau = who have come; mama = My; bhakṣau = food; upasthitau = and become.

Both of You have the shoulders of bulls, and both of You hold great swords and bows. Who are You who have come to this terrible place and become My food?1

1 “Both of You have the shoulders of bulls” means “Both of You have shoulders that resemble the shoulders of bulls.”
