इति ब्रुवाणो दृढसत्यविक्रमो महायशा दाशरथिः प्रतापवान्।
अवेक्ष्य सौमित्रिमुदारविक्रमः स्थिरां तदा स्वां मतिमात्मनाकरोत्॥
iti bruvāṇo dṛḍha-satya-vikramo
mahā-yaśā dāśarathiḥ pratāpavān
avekṣya saumitrim udāra-vikramaḥ
sthirāṁ tadā svāṁ matim ātmanākarot
iti = this; bruvāṇaḥ = saying; dṛḍha-satya-vikramaḥ = unshaken true prowess; mahā-yaśāḥ = He was in full possession of great fame; dāśarathiḥ = son of Daśaratha; pratāpavān = the powerful; avekṣya = looked; saumitrim = at the son of Sumitrā-devī; udāra- vikramaḥ = and outstanding courage; sthirām tadā = and steadied; svām = His; matim = mind; ātmanā akarot = with His intelligence.1
Saying this, the powerful son of Daśaratha looked at the son of Sumitrā-devī and steadied His mind with His intelligence. He was in full possession of great fame, unshaken true prowess and outstanding courage.
