Chapter 1: Contents of the Rāmāyaṇa Summarized
Text 1.1.94
दसवर्षसहस्राणि दसवर्षशतानि च।
रामो राज्यमुपासित्वा ब्रह्मलोकं गमिष्यति॥
dasa-varṣa-sahasrāṇi dasa-varṣa-śatāni ca
rāmo rājyam upāsitvā brahma-lokaṁ gamiṣyati
dasa-varṣa-sahasrāṇi dasa-varṣa-śatāni ca = for 11,000 years; rāmaḥ = Rāma; rājyam = His kingdom; upāsitvā = over; brahma-lokam = to the spiritual world; gamiṣyati = will go.
After ruling over His kingdom for 11,000 years, [Rāma] will go to the spiritual world.
This verse also reveals that Rāma will not become obsessed with ruling His kingdom. He will leave it and go to the spiritual world, Vaikuṇṭha.
The sage points out in the next verse that a study of this is a means to attain liberation from material existence.
