Chapter 10: Ṛśyaśṛṅga Comes to Romapada’s kingdom
Text 1.10.18
प्रतिगृह्य तु तां पूजां सर्वा एव समुत्सुकाः।
ऋषेर्भीतास्तु शीघ्रं ता गमनाय मतिं दधुः॥
pratigṛhya tu tāṁ pūjāṁ sarvā eva samutsukāḥ
ṛṣer bhītās tu śīghraṁ tā gamanāya matiṁ dadhuḥ
pratigṛhya = they accepted; tu = but; tām pūjām = his honor; sarvāḥ eva = all of them; samutsukāḥ = eager [to converse with him]; ṛṣeḥ = of the sage Vibhaṇḍaka; bhītāḥ = frightened; tu = but; śīghram = quickly; tāḥ = they; gamanāya = departing; matim dadhuḥ = thought of.
All of them eager [to converse with him], they accepted his honor. But, frightened of the sage Vibhaṇḍaka, they thought of departing quickly.
