Chapter 11: Daśaratha Brings Ṛśyaśṛṅga to Ayodhyā

अनपत्योऽस्मि धर्मात्मञ्शान्ताभर्ता मम क्रतुम्।
आहरेत त्वयाज्ञप्तः सन्तानार्थं कुलस्य च॥
anapatyo ’smi dharmātmañ śāntā-bhartā mama kratum
āhareta tvayājñaptaḥ santānārthaṁ kulasya ca
anapatyaḥ = childless; asmi = he will say, “I am; dharma-ātman = O dhārmika soul; śāntā-bhartā = Śāntā’s husband; mama = so that I; kratum = a sacrifice; āhareta = let perform; tvayā = with your; ājñaptaḥ = permission; santāna-artham = may have a child; kulasya = therefore, for the continuation of my family; ca = and.
He will say, “I am childless, O dhārmika soul! Therefore, for the continuation of my family and so that I may have a child, let Śāntā’s husband perform a sacrifice with your permission.”
