Chapter 12: Preparation for the Aśvamedha Sacrifice
Text 1.12.20
ततो द्विजास्ते धर्मज्ञमस्तुवन्पार्थिवर्षभम्।
अनुज्ञातास्ततः सर्वे पुनर्जग्मुर्यथागतम्॥
tato dvijās te dharmajñam astuvan pārthiva-rṣabham
anujñātās tataḥ sarve punar jagmur yathāgatam
tataḥ = then; dvijāḥ = twiceborn; te = those; dharmajñam = who knew dharma; astuvan = praised; pārthiva-rṣabham = that king; anujñātāḥ = with his permission; tataḥ = and then; sarve = all of them; punaḥ jagmuḥ = returned; yathā āgatam = as they had come.
Then those twiceborn praised that king who knew dharma, and then, with his permission, all of them returned as they had come.
