Chapter 12: Preparation for the Aśvamedha Sacrifice
Text 1.12.21
गतेष्वथ द्विजाग्र्येषु मन्त्रिणस्तान्नराधिपः।
विसर्जयित्वा स्वं वेश्म प्रविवेश महाद्युतिः॥
gateṣv atha dvijāgryeṣu mantriṇas tān narādhipaḥ
visarjayitvā svaṁ veśma praviveśa mahā-dyutiḥ
gateṣu atha = when had departed; dvija-agryeṣu = the best of the twiceborn; mantriṇaḥ tān = his ministers; nara-adhipaḥ = king; visarjayitvā = dismissed and; svam = his; veśma = home; praviveśa = entered; mahā-dyutiḥ = the greatly majestic.
When the best of the twiceborn had departed, the greatly majestic king dismissed his ministers and entered his home.
He left the sacred fireplace (agni-gṛha) and reached his inner quarters (antaḥ-pura).
