Chapter 12: Preparation for the Aśvamedha Sacrifice

ततः सुमन्त्रस्त्वरितं गत्वा त्वरितविक्रमः।
समानयत्स तान्सर्वान्समर्थान्वेदपारगान्॥
tataḥ sumantras tvaritaṁ gatvā tvarita-vikramaḥ
samānayat sa tān sarvān samarthān veda-pāragān
tataḥ = then; sumantraḥ = Sumantra; tvaritam = quickly; gatvā = went and; tvarita-vikramaḥ = of rapid speed; samānayat = brought; saḥ = a person; tān = of them; sarvān = all; samarthān = and were capable; veda-pāragān = who had thoroughly studied the Vedas.
Then Sumantra, a person of rapid speed quickly went and brought all of them who had thoroughly studied the Vedas and were capable.
