Chapter 14: The Aśvamedha Sacrifice
Text 1.14.16
नानादेशादनुप्राप्ताः पुरुषाः स्त्रीगणास्तथा।
अन्नपानैः सुविहितास्तस्मिन्यज्ञे महात्मनः॥
nānā-deśād anuprāptāḥ puruṣāḥ strī-gaṇās tathā
anna-pānaiḥ suvihitās tasmin yajñe mahātmanaḥ
nānā-deśāt = from various countries; anuprāptāḥ = assembled; puruṣāḥ = men; strī-gaṇāḥ tathā = and women; anna-pānaiḥ = with food and drinks; suvihitāḥ = they were very satisfied; tasmin = in that; yajñe = sacrifice; mahā-ātmanaḥ = of the great soul Daśaratha.
Men and women from various countries assembled. In that sacrifice of the great soul Daśaratha, they were very satisfied with food and drinks.
