नाषडङ्गविदत्रासीन्नाव्रतो नाबहुश्रुतः।
सदस्यास्तस्य वै राज्ञो नावादकुशला द्विजाः॥
nāṣaḍ-aṅgavid atrāsīn nāvrato nābahu-śrutaḥ
sadasyās tasya vai rājño nāvāda-kuśalā dvijāḥ
na = none; aṣat-aṅgavit = who was not learned in the six Vedāṅgas; atra = in that king’s sacrifice; āsīt = there was; na = none; avrataḥ = who had not taken up any vrata; na = and none; abahu-śrutaḥ = who had not learnt a lot; sadasyāḥ = assembled; tasya vai = for the; rājñaḥ = king; na = none; avāda-kuśalāḥ = there were inexpert in debate; dvijāḥ = of the twiceborn.
In that king’s sacrifice, there was none who was not learned in the six Vedāṅgas, none who had not taken up any vrata, and none who had not learnt a lot. None of the twiceborn assembled for the king there were inexpert in debate.
