Chapter 14: The Aśvamedha Sacrifice
Text 1.14.25
एकविंशति यूपास्ते एकविंशत्यरत्नयः।
वासोभिरेकविंशद्भिरेकैकं समलङ्कृताः॥
eka-viṁśati yūpās te eka-viṁśaty aratnayaḥ
vāsobhir eka-viṁśadbhir ekaikaṁ samalaṅkṛtāḥ
eka-viṁśati = 21; yūpāḥ = pillars; te = there were; eka-viṁśati = each 21; aratnayaḥ = cubits tall; vāsobhiḥ = with cloth; eka-viṁśadbhiḥ = of the 21 pillars; eka-ekam = each; samalaṅkṛtāḥ = was decorated.
There were 21 pillars, each 21 cubits tall. Each of the 21 pillars was decorated with cloth.
