वैनतेयं समारुह्य भास्करस्तोयदं यथा।
तप्तहाटककेयूरो वन्द्यमानः सुरोत्तमैः॥
vainateyaṁ samāruhya bhāskaras toyadaṁ yathā
tapta-hāṭaka-keyūro vandyamānaḥ surottamaiḥ
vainateyam = on Garuḍa, the son of Vinatā; samāruhya = mounted; bhāskaraḥ = the brilliant sun; toyadam = mounted on a cloud; yathā = like; tapta-hāṭaka-keyūraḥ = with armlets made of molten gold; vandyamānaḥ = he was being worshipped and glorified; sura uttamaiḥ = by the best of the deities.
Mounted on Garuḍa, the son of Vinatā, like the brilliant sun mounted on a cloud, with armlets made of molten gold, He was being worshipped and glorified by the best of the deities.1
1. Vandyamānaḥ surottamaiḥ indicates that Lord Viṣṇu was worshipped by the best of the deities, that is, by the residents of Vaikuṇṭha. These best of the deities cannot refer to the demigods of this world because He was being worshipped while He appeared to the demigods who have not yet begun to worship and glorify Him.
