Chapter 15: The Demigods Appeal to the Lord for Protection
Text 1.15.25
वधार्थं वयमायातास्तस्य वै मुनिभिः सह।
सिद्धगन्धर्वयक्षाश्च ततस्त्वां शरणं गताः॥
vadhārthaṁ vayam āyātās tasya vai munibhiḥ saha
siddha-gandharva-yakṣāś ca tatas tvāṁ śaraṇaṁ gatāḥ
vadha-artham = may be killed; vayam = we have; āyātāḥ = assembled here; tasya vai = so that he; munibhiḥ = the sages; saha = along with; siddha-gandharva-yakṣāḥ ca = the siddhas, gandharvas and yakṣas; tataḥ = for this reason; tvām = you; śaraṇam gatāḥ = take shelter of.
We have assembled here along with the sages so that he may be killed. The siddhas, gandharvas and yakṣas take shelter of You for this reason.
