तमुद्धतं रावणमुग्रतेजसं प्रवृद्धदर्पं त्रिदशेश्वरद्विषम्।
विरावणं साधु तपस्विकण्टकं तपस्विनामुद्धर तं भयावहम्॥
tam uddhataṁ rāvaṇam ugra-tejasaṁ
pravṛddha-darpaṁ tri-daśeśvara-dviṣam
virāvaṇaṁ sādhu tapasvi-kaṇṭakaṁ
tapasvinām uddhara taṁ bhayāvaham
tam = the famous; uddhatam = he is haughty since birth; rāvaṇam = Rāvaṇa; ugra-tejasam = filled with terrible prowess; pravṛddha-darpam = his pride has increased because of the benediction granted upon him; tri-daśa-īśvara-dviṣam = he is the enemy of the Lord of the demigods; virāvaṇam = he has caused everyone to cry; sādhu = completely; tapasvi-kaṇṭakam = is an enemy to the ascetics; tapasvinām = to them; uddhara = please uproot; tam = he; bhaya-āvaham = and brings about fear.
“Please completely uproot the famous Rāvaṇa. He is haughty since birth, filled with terrible prowess. His pride has increased because of the benediction granted upon him. He is the enemy of the Lord of the demigods. He has caused everyone to cry. He is an enemy to the ascetics and brings about fear to them.
