Chapter 15: The Demigods Appeal to the Lord for Protection
Text 1.15.7
त्वया तस्मै वरो दत्तः प्रीतेन भगवन्पुरा।
मानयन्तश्च तं सर्वं तस्य क्षमामहे॥
tvayā tasmai varo dattaḥ prītena bhagavan purā
mānayantaś ca taṁ sarvaṁ tasya kṣamāmahe
tvayā = you; tasmai = him; varaḥ = a boon [of being unable to be killed by any of us]; dattaḥ = granted; prītena = being pleased with him; bhagavan = O Lord; purā = in the past; mānayantaḥ ca = honoring; tam = that boon of yours; sarvam = all tortures; tasya = his; kṣamāmahe = we tolerate.
O Lord, being pleased with him in the past, you granted him a boon of being unable to be killed by any of us. Honoring that boon of yours, we tolerate all his tortures.
