Chapter 16: Daśaratha Benedicted
Text 1.16.20
अथो पुनरिदं वाक्यं प्राजापत्यो नरोऽब्रवीत्।
राजन्नर्चयता देवानद्य प्राप्तमिदं त्वया॥
atho punar idaṁ vākyaṁ prājāpatyo naro ’bravīt
rājann arcayatā devān adya prāptam idaṁ tvayā
atho = then; punaḥ = again; idam vākyam = as follows; prājāpatyaḥ = sent by the Prajāpati; naraḥ = that person; abravīt = spoke; rājan = O king; arcayatā = you have worshipped; devān = the devas through the Aśvamedha and Putra-kāmeṣṭi sacrifices; adya = today; prāptam = obtained; idam = this; tvayā = and so you have.
Then that person sent by the Prajāpati spoke again as follows: O king, you have worshipped the devas through the Aśvamedha and Putra-kāmeṣṭi sacrifices and so you have obtained this today.
