वरुणो जनयामास सुषेणं नाम वानरम्।
शरभं जनयामास पर्जन्यस्तु महाबलम्॥
varuṇo janayām āsa suṣeṇaṁ nāma vānaram
śarabhaṁ janayām āsa parjanyas tu mahā-balam
varuṇaḥ = Varuṇa; janayām āsa = gave birth; suṣeṇam = Suṣeṇa; nāma = named; vānaram = to the monkey; śarabham = to Śarabha; janayām āsa = gave birth; parjanyaḥ tu = Parjanya, the presiding deity of rain; mahā-balam = of great strength.
Varuṇa gave birth to the monkey named Suṣeṇa. Parjanya, the presiding deity of rain, gave birth to Śarabha of great strength.
