Chapter 17: Brahmā Orders the Demigods to Incarnate and Assist Rāma

विचालयेयुः शैलेन्द्रान्भेदयेयुः स्थिरान्द्रुमान्।
क्षोभयेयुश्च वेगेन समुद्रं सरितां पतिम्॥
vicālayeyuḥ śailendrān bhedayeyuḥ sthirān drumān
kṣobhayeyuś ca vegena samudraṁ saritāṁ patim
vicālayeyuḥ = they could throw; śaila-indrān = large mountains; bhedayeyuḥ = they could break apart; sthirān = firmly rooted; drumān = trees; kṣobhayeyuḥ ca = they could agitate; vegena = forcefully; samudram = the ocean; saritām = of the rivers; patim = the husband.
They could throw large mountains. They could break apart firmly rooted trees. They could forcefully agitate the ocean, the husband of the rivers.
