Chapter 17: Brahmā Orders the Demigods to Incarnate and Assist Rāma

गृह्णीयुरपि मातङ्गान्मत्तान्प्रव्रजतो वने।
नर्दमानाश्च नादेन पातयेयुर्विहङ्गमान्॥
gṛhṇīyur api mātaṅgān mattān pravrajato vane
nardamānāś ca nādena pātayeyur vihaṅgamān
gṛhṇīyuḥ = they could catch; api = even; mātaṅgān = elephants; mattān = mad; pravrajataḥ = running fast; vane = in the forest; nardamānāḥ ca = roaring; nādena = loudly; pātayeyuḥ = they could cause to fall; vihaṅgamān = birds.
They could even catch mad elephants running fast in the forest. Roaring loudly, they could cause birds to fall.1
