Chapter 17: Brahmā Orders the Demigods to Incarnate and Assist Rāma

तांश्च सर्वान्महाबाहुर्वाली विपुलविक्रमः।
जुगोप भुजवीर्येण ऋक्षगोपुच्छवानरान्॥
tāṁś ca sarvān mahā-bāhur vālī vipula-vikramaḥ
jugopa bhuja-vīryeṇa ṛkṣa-gopuccha-vānarān
tān ca = the; sarvān = all; mahā-bāhuḥ = the great-armed; vālī = Vālī; vipula-vikramaḥ = of tremendous power; jugopa = protected; bhuja-vīryeṇa = with the strength of his arms; ṛkṣa-gopuccha-vānarān = bears, gopucchas and monkeys.
The great-armed Vālī of tremendous power protected all the bears, gopucchas and monkeys with the strength of his arms.
