Chapter 22: The Departure of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa with Viśvāmitra
Text 21
ततो रामो जलं स्पृष्ट्वा प्रहृष्टवदनः शुचिः।
प्रतिजग्राह ते विद्ये महर्षेर्भावितात्मनः॥
tato rāmo jalaṁ spṛṣṭvā prahṛṣṭa-vadanaḥ śuciḥ
pratijagrāha te vidye maha-rṣer bhāvitātmanaḥ
tataḥ = then; rāmaḥ = Rāma; jalam spṛṣṭvā = performed ācamana; prahṛṣṭa-vadanaḥ = with a delighted face; śuciḥ = having cleansed Himself; pratijagrāha = he accepted; te = the two; vidye = sciences; mahā-ṛṣeḥ = from the great sage; bhāvita-atmanaḥ = was meditating on the Supreme Soul.
Then Rāma performed ācamana with a delighted face. Having cleansed Himself, He accepted the two sciences from the great sage who was meditating on the Supreme Soul.
