Text 1.22.8

kalāpinau dhanuṣ-pāṇī śobhayānau diśo daśa
viśvāmitraṁ
mahātmānaṁ triśīrṣāv iva pannagau
anujagmatur
akṣudrau pitāmaham ivāśvinau

kalāpinau = and quivers; dhanuḥ-pāṇī = with bows in hand; śobhayānau = illuminating; diśaḥ = the ten; daśa = directions; viśvāmitram = Viśvāmitra; mahā-ātmānam = the great soul; triśīrṣau = three-headed; iva = just as; pannagau = serpents; anujagmatuḥ = they followed; akṣudrau = but not of less beauty, prowess, and so on; pitāmaham = [follow] grandfather Brahmā; iva = resembling; aśvinau = the Aśvinī-kumāras.

Illuminating the ten directions with bows in hand and quivers resembling three-headed serpents but not of less beauty and prowess and so on, They followed the great soul Viśvāmitra just as the Aśvinī-kumāras [follow] Grandfather Brahmā.

Kalāpinau indicates that Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa were carrying quivers.[1] The very name Viśvāmitra indicates that he is a friend to the world. This is also noted in the Śruti.[2]
