Text 1.23.1
प्रभातायां तु शर्वर्यां विश्वामित्रो महामुनिः।
अभ्यभाषत काकुत्स्थौ शयानौ पर्णसंस्तरे॥
prabhātāyāṁ tu śarvaryāṁ viśvāmitro mahā-muniḥ
abhyabhāṣata kākutsthau śayānau parṇa-saṁstare
prabhātāyām tu = turned into dawn; śarvaryām = when night; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; mahā-muniḥ = the great sage; abhyabhāṣata = called out; kākutsthau = to the two descendants of Kakutstha; śayānau = who were lying; parṇa-saṁstare = on a bed of leaves.
When night turned into dawn, the great sage Viśvāmitra called out to the two descendants of Kakutstha who were lying on a bed of leaves.
This chapter describes that Viśvāmitra, Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa reached Aṅgadeśa while the sage described the history of that place. Parṇa-saṁstare indicates that the bed was made of leaves and straw.
