तं दृष्ट्वा परमप्रीतौ राघवौ पुण्यमाश्रमम्।
ऊचतुस्तं महात्मानं विश्वामित्रमिदं वचः।
कौतूहलात्तौ धर्मज्ञौ वीर्यवन्तं तपोधनम्॥
taṁ dṛṣṭvā parama-prītau rāghavau puṇyam āśramam
ūcatus taṁ mahātmānaṁ viśvāmitram idaṁ vacaḥ
kautūhalāt tau dharma-jñau vīryavantaṁ tapo-dhanam
tam = to the; that dṛṣṭvā = noticing; parama-prītau = with extreme happiness; rāghavau = the two descendants of Raghu; puṇyam = pious; āśramam = āśrama; ūcatuḥ = spoke; tam = to the; mahā-ātmānam = great soul; viśvāmitram = Viśvāmitra; idam = the following; vacaḥ = words; kautūhalāt = out of curiosity; tau = the; dharma-jñau = who knew dharma; vīryavantam = the powerful; tapaḥ-dhanam = sage whose wealth was austerity.
Noticing that pious āśrama with extreme happiness, the two descendants of Raghu who knew dharma spoke the following words to the great soul Viśvāmitra, the powerful sage whose wealth was austerity, out of curiosity.
