Chapter 24: The History of Sarayū
Text 1.24.23
साधु साध्विति तं देवाः पाकशासनमब्रुवन्।
देशस्य पूजां तां दृष्ट्वा कृतां शक्रेण धीमता॥
sādhu sādhv iti taṁ devāḥ pāka-śāsanam abruvan
deśasya pūjāṁ tāṁ dṛṣṭvā kṛtāṁ śakreṇa dhīmatā
sādhu = well done; sādhu = well done; iti tam devāḥ pāka-śāsanam abruvan = the devas told Indra; deśasya = upon the regions; pūjām tām = the honor; dṛṣṭvā = observing; kṛtām = bestowed; śakreṇa = Indra; dhīmatā = by the wise.
Observing the honor bestowed upon the region by the wise Indra, the devas told Indra, “Well done! Well done!”
