Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā
Text 1.26.11
पश्य लक्ष्मण यक्षिण्या भैरवं दारुणं वपुः।
भिद्येरन्दर्शनादस्या भीरूणां हृदयानि च॥
paśya lakṣmaṇa yakṣiṇyā bhairavaṁ dāruṇaṁ vapuḥ
bhidyeran darśanād asyā bhīrūṇāṁ hṛdayāni ca
paśya = look; lakṣmaṇa = Lakṣmaṇa; yakṣiṇyāḥ = of this yakṣiṇī; bhairavam = at the frightening; dāruṇam = and deformed; vapuḥ = body; bhidyeran = would shatter; darśanāt = by seeing; asyāḥ = her; bhīrūṇām = of the timid; hṛdayāni ca = the hearts.
Lakṣmaṇa, look at the frightening and deformed body of this yakṣiṇī. The hearts of the timid would shatter by seeing her.
