Bāla-kāṇḍa
Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā
Text 1.26.16

विश्वामित्रस्तु ब्रह्मर्षिर्हुङ्कारेणाभिभर्त्स्य ताम्।
स्वस्ति राघवयोरस्तु जयं चैवाभ्यभाषत॥

viśvāmitras tu brahma-rṣir huṅkāreṇābhibhartsya tām
svasti
rāghavayor astu jayaṁ caivābhyabhāṣata

viśvāmitraḥ tu = Viśvāmitra; brahma-ṛṣiḥ = Brahmarṣi; huṅkāreṇā = with a menacing sound; abhibhartsya = threatened and; tām = her; svasti = auspiciousness; rāghavayoḥ = unto the two descendants of Raghu; astu = may there be; jayam ca eva = and victory; abhyabhāṣata = said.

Brahmarṣi Viśvāmitra threatened her with a menacing sound and said, “May there be auspiciousness and victory unto the two descendants of Raghu!”

Though the great sage knew that Rāma had superhuman potency, upon noticing that Tāṭakā was excessively fierce, he became apprehensive and invoked auspiciousness upon Him.
