Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā
Text 1.26.23
ततस्तावाश्मवर्षेण कीर्यमाणौ समन्ततः।
दृष्ट्वा गाधिसुतः श्रीमानिदं वचनमब्रवीत्॥
tatas tāv āśma-varṣeṇa kīryamāṇau samantataḥ
dṛṣṭvā gādhi-sutaḥ śrīmān idaṁ vacanam abravīt
tataḥ tau = upon them; asma-varṣeṇa = a shower of stones; kīryamāṇau = was being thrown; samantataḥ = from all sides; dṛṣṭvā = noticing that; gādhi-sutaḥ = son of Gādhi; śrīmān = the splendorous; idam = the following; vacanam = words; abravīt = spoke.
Noticing that a shower of stones was being thrown upon Them from all sides, the splendorous son of Gādhi spoke the following words.
Viśvāmitra, the son of Gādhi, was splendorous because of the delight that he was to become the cause of the destruction of Tāṭakā.
