Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā
Text 1.26.26
इत्युक्तस्तु तदा यक्षीमाश्मवृष्ट्याभिवर्षतीम्।
दर्शयञ्शब्दवेधित्वं तां रुरोध स सायकैः॥
ity uktas tu tadā yakṣiṇīm āśma-vṛṣṭyābhivarṣatīm
darśayañ śabda-vedhitvaṁ tāṁ rurodha sa sāyakaiḥ
iti uktaḥ tu tadā = when Lord Rāma was thus instructed; yakṣiṇīm = yakṣiṇī; aśma-vṛṣṭyā = a rain of stones; abhivarṣatīm = while she was showering; darśayan = exhibited; śabda-vedhitvam = His skill of targetting an object by sound and; tām = the; rurodha = prevented; saḥ = he; sāyakaiḥ = by using His arrows.
When Lord Rāma was thus instructed, He exhibited His skill of targetting an object by sound and prevented the yakṣiṇī by using His arrows while she was showering a rain of stones.
