Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā
Text 1.26.27
सा रुद्धा शरजालेन मायाबलसमन्विता।
अभिदुद्राव काकुत्स्थं लक्ष्मणं च विनेदुषी॥
sā ruddhā śara-jālena māyā-bala-samanvitā
abhidudrāva kākutsthaṁ lakṣmaṇaṁ ca vineduṣī
sā = she; ruddhā = prevented; śara-jālena = by a network of arrows; māyā-bala-samanvitā = with her mystical powers; abhidudrāva = advanced; kākutstham = towards Kākutstha; lakṣmaṇam ca = and Lakṣmaṇa; vineduṣī = while make a loud noise.
Prevented by a network of arrows, with her mystical powers she advanced towards Kākutstha and Lakṣmaṇa while making a loud noise.
Tāṭakā realized that her invisibility was useless and so she advanced towards Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.
